New Entertainment class: La Habra

We are proud to announce new Entertainment classes now available at La Habra campus.

Wednesday [Starts on 8/29]
7:00pm-10:00pm Environment & Vehicle Design with Charles Lee (click to view samples of work)
Charles Lee is a senior concept artist at Riot Games.

Saturday [Starts on 9/1]
10:00am-1:00pm Character & Prop Design with David Ko (click to view samples of work)
David Ko is an associate concept artist at Riot Games.

Both classes are tailored for advanced students who are preparing a portfolio for a college with Entertainment Design or a professional portfolio.

Portfolio or samples of work needs to be reviewed before registration.

The curriculum is set for 12 weeks after 12 weeks student gets to continue an on-going base or withdraw.

New Figure drawing class

We are happy to announce a new course at La Habra campus.
Saturday
2:00-5: 00 pm Instructed Figure Drawing [James Galindo]

*Class set up: 1-15 minute gesture pose with a live model.

  • *Class description:
  • This class provides intensive study of human anatomy. Principles of foreshortening, development of visual memory, observation of gesture, visual viewpoint, and sequential figures in motion are addressed.

*Instructor:
James is a current faculty at Laguna College of Arts and Saddleback College.

Come and learn more about Art Center and ask any questions you might have in regards to the admission process.   The admission officer from Art Center will be at Kazone on April 14th, Saturday from 11am-1pm. for a presentation of school programs, admission process and portfolio review.

About Robh:
Robh Ruppel worked for TSR for several years beginning in 1992, producing cover and interior art for products from the Forgotten Realms, Dragonlance, and Ravenloft settings, among others. In 1994, he began producing artwork for the Planescape setting as well, which constituted the majority of this career with TSR. When TSR was purchased by Wizards of the Coast, he also illustrated cards for Magic: The Gathering.
Ruppel worked as a teacher at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California, where he previously studied industrial design and illustration as a student.
Robh Ruppel is a production designer and concept artist working in games and feature films. He art directed Meet the Robinsons and Brother Bear for Disney. He won Best Art Direction for Uncharted 2.
About Kim Jung Gi:
Kim Jung Gi is an established artist from South Korea whose art work has attracted the international attention of millions over the last few years.
He has the ability to visualize the drawing before making his marks. With mental pictures, he can draw without a photographic reference.
"I observe things all the time. I don’t take references while I’m drawing, but I’m always collecting visual resources. I observe them carefully on daily basis, almost habitually. I study images of all sorts and genres, "Kim said, adding that he's been passionate about art since he was a kid."
Since 2007, he has published three Sketchbooks which contain more than 2,200 pages of his monumental art work.
